| ¡iHighlight¡j |
The sun-drenched allure of Mexico and Mexican culture is difficult to overstate. And here is a chance to taste the exotic in one itinerary of sun, sand and tequila.
First head through California, America¡¦s most populous state, originally a territory of Mexico. Spend the afternoon in Hollywood, America¡¦s dream factory. |
| |
¡¹¡yLos Angeles¡z , the name itself is enough to conjure up images filled with profound emotions. |
| |
¡¹¡yTijuana¡z is located in the northwest of Mexico, at the north end of the Baja California Peninsula, and it is close to the USA border. San Diego is about 25 Km north of the border...the actual city at the border is called San Ysidro, which happens to be the south terminus of the San Diego Trolley. It is the largest city in the territory of Baja California Norte. Many people go up there from all parts of Mexico, many work at these border manufacturing factories called MAQUILADORAS.
|
| ¡¹¡ySan Diego¡z is a city located in the southwestern corner of the state of California (and thus in the southwestern corner of the continental United States). The city is noted for its temperate climate and excellent beaches. Many people only visit San Diego as an adjunct to Los Angeles, focusing on Seaworld and San Diego Zoo. Whilst both of these are excellent attractions, to visit only these would be missing out on so much. |
| ¡¹¡y Solvang ¡z-- the name is a Danish word meaning "sunny field"-- was founded in 1911 on 9,000 acres of former Spanish land grant. To the small group of Danish settlers, refugees from Midwestern winters, the area must have looked like heaven. Shops, galleries, restaurants, and hotels soon sprouted, each reflecting the area's Danish architectural heritage. And Solvang evolved into the jewel it is today: a charming town with roots planted firmly in Danish tradition. |
